So I used to able to join my friends in a steam group server but a couple months ago it always shows up as "Not in joinable game" which is really starting to irritate me. It always says that my friends are "Not in joinable game" but I can join their steam group server (by guessing) through the browser easily. Archived post.
Try that first. After the game has been created/launched, whoever is the host enter "sv_consistency 0" without quotes in the console. It's not cheat protected so you don't need sv_cheats to set it. If you still can't connect to each other then the issue 'likely' isn't mod releated. But these are usually the cause. PS.
